CANOE LESSONS
INTRO TO CANOEING 
This 2 evening canoe course will introduce you to canoeing. We will spend time learning about canoes, the basic strokes and look ahead to the skills required for both lake and river canoeing.6:30 to 9:30 pm.

FAMILY CANOEING - INTRO
This 2 hr canoe course will introduce you to canoeing with your kids in the boat. We will spend time learning about canoes, the basic strokes and look ahead to the skills required for both lake and river canoeing.

FAMILY CANOEING - RIVER
This 2 hr canoe course will introduce you to canoeing grade I rivers with your kids in the boat. We will spend time on the river looking at the best strategies for performing eddy turns and ferry’s with kids in the canoes.
Pre-reqs: Previous basic river experience
STROKE IMPROVEMENT - FLAT WATER (Tandem or Solo)
The aim of this program is to provide a workshop format for canoeists to improve their strokes and manuevers on flatwater.

RIVER CANOEING
BEGINNER/NOVICE RIVER CANOEING
Come discover the excitement of River Canoeing. This course will cover all of the strokes required to paddle a canoe down easy flowing rivers. On Saturday we will focus on all the strokes and safety skills required for our river trip on Sunday down the Bow River. You will learn how to perform eddy turns and forward ferries on a Class I river. These skills will provide an excellent foundation when progressing to Class II whitewater.

INTRO TO SOLO CANOEING
Looking for a step-up in your canoe fun? or Tired of paddling with the same partner? Join those of us that enjoy the freedom of solo whitewater canoeing. Participants should be comfortable in the stern of a canoe on Class I water. We spend Friday Evening getting comfortable in the solo canoes and learning solo techniques on the lake. On Saturday we put it all together on the river and enjoy the freedom of solo - justyou and your canoe!! Friday night 6:30-9:00 and Saturday (9:00am to 4:00pm). Equipment is included but participants are responsible for transportation.

WHITE WATER CANOEING (Tandem or Solo)
Wanna have more fun!? This course takes the next step into the realm of white water. Designed for paddlers looking to expand their skills and increase their enjoyment on a greater variety of rivers. Saturday, on the Kananaskis River, we fine tune our river skills and look at river rescue techniques. On Sunday we will run a Grade II+ river where we can apply our skills to faster moving water. We will focus on eddy turns and ferries and practice linking turns and river reading. Towards the end of the day we will put our ferry skills to the test surfing waves!
Participants should be competent on Class I rivers and be familiar with Ferries and Eddy Turns.

WHITE WATER WEEK
The best way to learn white water paddling is to allow for increased instruction time, repetition and coached practice. Our whitewater week allows paddlers to reap the benefits of more one on one time and the adventure of applying their skills to a variety of river settings. What a great way to spend a week - paddling!

RIVER RESCUE
We strongly recommend these courses for all paddlers. Everyone can benefit from regular practice of river rescue techniques. These courses can be applied to all types of boats; canoes, kayaks, rafts and other types water craft used on rivers or moving water.
SWIFT WATER RESCUE 
River travel is inherently dangerous. Each paddler should have the knowledge and skills to respond to rescue situations.
Many paddlers spend years developing their paddling techniques; however, few take the time to build their river rescue skills.
This Royal Life Saving Society program Level I and Level II includes:
Safety, Equipment, Throwbag use, Swimming a rapid, Strong swimmer rescue, Tag line rescue, Foot entrapment, Releasing trapped boats. Certification is offered through the Life Saving Society. The course fee includes a manual, instruction and group equipment. Participants are responsible for all their personal equipment - we offer rentals. We recommend a wetsuit/dry top combination or a drysuit for the duration of the course as you will be spending lot's of time in the water.

* A Certification Fee of $ 40.00 is needed to register with the Life Saving Society along with a copy of a valid First-Aid Certificate.
WHITE WATER WEEK
The aim of this program is to provide a workshop format for canoeists to learn, develop and most of all practice commonly used river rescue skills. We will be approaching these skills from three typical rescue settings: on shore, in boat, and in the water. This course is for both tandem and solo canoeists. We will be conducting this workshop in a class I river setting, as well as on flat water.
Pre-requisites: Must have basic river skills (ferry’s and eddy turns).
