Please consider Volunteering  on the Bow Waters Canoe Club Board.

The Annual General Meeting is November 5!  This is when we elect Board Members - Consider offering your name up for a board position.  The time and effort commitment is not very much, but you can make a big difference to the club by contributing!  Thank you for considering this important role.

Our current board members

You would be making an significant contribution! Bow Waters Canoe Club is Calgary and area’s premier recreational paddling club, with 250 members and growing (up from 163 in 2022). Members come from across the region — from Calgary and the Bow Valley to Lethbridge and Edmonton.

We are proud to be one of the most active paddling clubs in Canada. This success is thanks to the strength of our board and volunteers and the enthusiasm of our members.

Why Volunteer on the Board?

Board members play a vital role in shaping the future of the club and supporting our mission:

“To promote and support recreational canoeing by providing educational and social opportunities in a safe and environmentally conscious manner to all interested people.”

The benefits of volunteering are enormous:

  • Reduce stress and boost well-being
  • Learn new skills and even advance your career
  • Build friendships and community connections
  • Give back to a club that gives so much to its members
